Finally, the long promised post/s.... (very photo heavy)
The morning of 8th August, 2009 dawned with a spectacular sunrise of pinks and oranges and we had a wonderful view from our hotel room.Heidi and Kerri arrived to do our hair and makeup and all was going relatively smoothly.
Then Luke rings me. Mum and dad got halfway to his house and realised they'd forgot Dad's suit. SO they went back and picked it up. Then they got a little lost. So they drove to Luke's parents house where the boys were getting ready and caught a cab to the hotel. They arrived, a little bit late but not late enough for it to be a huge hassle. My poor Dad, he was a bit stressed, but it was all ok.
I had a few little dramas nothing too major. There was a ribbon tag on my veil that I adn't cut off and there were no knives or scissors in the room so we called up a knife because in the entire hotel, there were no scissors. Then I had trouble getting my hoop to sit right under my dress. By now we were a bit pushed for time to get the photos done before we left for the church. So, after much wrestling, I finally got my dress to sit right. And the result......Well the result was pretty damn good if you ask me :D
Meanwhile, the boys were getting ready elsewhere. They went out for breakfast and, because they're boys, were getting ready just an hour before the wedding! Crazy. But I do think Luke scrubbed up alright.....Spunky much? I like to think so :)
It took us a while, but finally, we were all ready. The girls looked gorgeous, and the boys looked quite dashing......And a few happy snaps with my parents....
Finally we were all ready and we could head off to the church. Dad and I travelled in a 2008 Holden Statesman, the bridesmaids were in Luke's parent's 2005 BMW and the boys travelled in my dad's 1998 GXL 80 Series Landcruiser. Luke loves 4WD's and dad's is nice, so it was really quite fitting.
I really do thank Luke's parent's and my parents for lending us their cars. Thanks to Luke's brother James for driving the Statesman, my eldest brother Bernard for driving the 4WD, and to Dave Pennhaligon for driving the BMW.....
Just a few more preparation happy snaps for you to enjoy....
